    • Apr 11, 2018 | 07:30PM - 9:00PM

      Keynote Speaker:  Dr. Moshe Avital

The keynote speaker for the 2018 Holocaust Commemoration program is Moshe Avital, who was born in Bilke, a village in eastern Czechoslovakia. In 1939, Moshe was taken to the Ghetto Berhhovo and then with his entire family to Auschwitz. Moshe endured transfers to six different camps and was eventually liberated at Buchenwald on April 11, 1945. Traveling illegally to Palestine, he joined the Haganah, and fought in the wars from 1947 to 1950 and in 1956. Moshe came to the U. S. to pursue his studies. Moshe's topic will be "From the depth of despair to the height of hope and triumph." His faith, courage, and the will to never give up is a remarkable story.
